4th Texas Encamped in Gettysburg N.P.B

We've left our homes and those we cherish

in our own dear Texas land!

We would rather fight and perish

Side by side and hand to hand.

Old Virginia needs assistance-

Northern hosts invade her soil-

We'll present a firm resistance,

Courting danger, fire, and toil.

(Anonymous 4th Texan -  1861)

The Lone Star Guard is a confederate reenacting company located in Southeastern Michigan. Our goal as civil war reenactors is; to authentically reenact the life of a Texas volunteer infantryman who fought for confederacy during the "United States War  for States Rights." If you want to be fully immersed in living the life of  a confederate infantryman in the "Army of Northern Virginia" then we are the unit for you.

Chancelorsville movie shoot in Brownstown, Michigan 2002

Company E stresses the need for continual improvement of an individual's impression. An authentic reenactment group's impression will be representative of the scenario they are portraying at an event. The 4th Texas Co. E "Lone Star Guard" has had great success as a result of these goals. The Lone Star Guard has had several opportunities to  participate in movie shoots. We are asked and allowed to portray confederate troops at National Battle Parks. The majority of camps will be set up in a campaign style of reenacting.

We also take  pride in our reenacting Kits. The 4th Texas severed in the Army of Northern Virginia. Your initial  kit needs to reflect this.  We are able to qualify for Living History interpretive camping on United States National Battle Parks ( Most recently  Antietam, Franklin, and Gettysburg National Battle Parks.) The 4th Texas had to past a very stringent authenticity list in order to achieve this level of reenacting. There is a page of the Lone Star Guard's authenticity standards included in this site. Please print the information on the page to use as reference for your equipment needs. There is also a recommended vendor page with links and e-mail addresses for your use. ( DO NOT, purchase or order any part of your kit without consulting with a member of the 4th Texas! It would be a shame if you had to re-purchase a piece of your kit.)

The will be occasions where we reenact the 16th Michigan Volunteer Infantry Co. E. This will not be as often. Concentrate on your 4th Texas kit first. There will equipage that can be made available too you if the need arises.

The School of the Soldier page  shows the basic evolutions of the manual of arms for the Army of Northern Virginia during the Union States War of Aggression.
