The Medich Battalion in front of the Dunker Church 2005

Every once in awhile a special opportunity comes along for the 4th Texas Co. E. This year we participated with our battalion at Sharpsburg Maryland. The National Park Service contacted the Medich Battalion and asked if they would be interested in doing a demonstration weekend at Antietam National Battle Park. We  portrayed the "Hoods Texas Brigade". The 4th Texas were in this illustrious Brigade.

We were allowed to camp in the exact location that the Texans camped during the battle. The Medich Battalion was give a tour through the Cornfield where the Texans fought.  The N.P.S. was so impressed with the battalion we were given several other privileges that are not normally afforded visiting units.

The Medich Battalion "Covered themselves in Glory" and have been asked to return for the Antietam anniversary weekend in 2006. Below are several pictures from that weekend.
